Testimonials

Just wanted to thank you for offering the trip to the Galt Fire Hall and Museum! Two classes from our school went today and we had a great time. All three activity centres were purposeful, they loved the hands on aspect of the museum and all the students learned a lot. The fire fighters and volunteers were fantastic, very knowledgeable and were great with their classroom management skills. We were thrilled to go and we hope that next year the same field trip can be offered to grade three students-thanks again for your hard work and for promoting such a great local resource to complement our social studies unit on pioneers!

On behalf of Highland School’s grade three classes, I would like to thank you for the superb day we spent at your Museum and Education Centre. It was indeed a trip that was not only interesting and informative for those who attended, but it ties into our curriculum so very well. We always find trips with hands-on activities very successful. The museum visit certainly fits the Ontario Social Studies Curriculum as in grade three we study how lessons from the past can be used to make wise decisions for the present and future. You gave us important information to examine critically issues relevant to our lives as Cambridge citizens.

We have learned through your Safety House presentation how interdependent we are. It is meaningful for students to know we have a shared responsibility with you as fire fighters and citizens … you to be our protectors and we to support you by learning how to prevent fires and injury. Personal safety and injury prevention is one our curriculum’s teaching points in the Healthy Living Strand. It is important to have learned procedures and practices to be followed both at home and at school.

Once again, thank you for the enthusiastic and knowledgeable presenters that we learned from our day at the Museum and Education Centre.
