Mayor's Winter Levee

It's Family Day Weekend and the Fire Hall Museum and Education Centre will be open with extended hours until 2 pm on Saturday for the Mayor's Winter Levee being held next door at Cambridge City Hall and outdoors at Civic Square. The City will be celebrating with food trucks, an ice carving demonstration, face painting, hot chocolate, family entertainment and more!

2024 marks the 50th anniversary of a flood that devastated parts of Cambridge. It was a sunny day. May 17, 1974. Then … disaster! It wasn’t the first time that flood waters had inundated land, towns, and cities in the Grand River watershed – but this flood and what happened next has had a profound effect on Cambridge.

All ages will enjoy walking through downtown Cambridge with thousands of celebrants as you interact and enjoy interactive light installations and live LED performers along the route.
The Fire Hall Museum opens at 6 pm - a place to warm up while enjoying the museum's exhibits - before and after your walk through downtown Cambridge.
