Accessibility
The Fire Hall Museum & Education Centre strives to be welcoming and accessible for all.

Accessible Parking and Drop-Off
- The City of Cambridge Civic Square outdoor parking lot at 9 Cambridge Street is the closest parking lot to the Museum. It has 6 spaces reserved for accessible parking permit holders.
- Vehicles may stop in front of the Museum on Dickson Street to pick up or drop off visitors. Parking is not permitted in this area.
- There is a ramp and an automated entry door at the main entrance to the Museum, located on the left (west) side of the building. The entry door opening is 86 cm (34 inches) wide.
- The main floor of the Museum is wheelchair-accessible. Wheelchairs, strollers and scooters are permitted in all areas of the main floor.
Public Washrooms
- The Museum does NOT have public washrooms.
- Accessible public washrooms are located on the main floor in City Hall next door to the Museum.
Service Animals
- Service animals are welcome in the Museum.
- Dogs that are not service animals are welcome in the Museum if they are leashed.
Sounds and Lighting
- The Museum’s exhibits include bells and sirens that can be loud and startling.
- There are no strobe or flashing lights in the Museum’s exhibits. A flashing light is located outside the Museum’s entrance.
- Video presentations in the Museum’s exhibits are open captioned.
