Group Tours
We offer a great opportunity for an outing for a school class, Brownies, Scouts and other youth groups. Note that washrooms are not accessible, as they are on the building’s second floor. The Fire Hall Museum charges for groups booking a private tour when the museum is not otherwise open to the public. The fee is $30 including all taxes. Fees may be waived at the discretion of the Board of Directors. Payment can be made by cash, cheque or e-Transfer to donate@firehallmuseum.ca.

We’re located at Civic Square – next to Cambridge City Hall and one block from the Cambridge Farmers’ Market. Nearby there is limited on-street parking and several municipal parking lots – most with complimentary 2-hour limits. The closest parking lots include: Civic Square Lot at 9 Cambridge Street; Beverly Street Lot at 15 Beverly Street; and Market Square Lot at 40 Dickson Street (note that the Market Square Lot is not available on Saturdays).

- From Kitchener-Waterloo – Take Highway 8 south into Cambridge. Continue on Highway 8 until the junction of Highways 8 and 24. Turn right on Highway 24, also known as Water Street, and continue into the Galt City Centre. Turn left on Dickson Street.
- From Highway 401 – Take Highway 24 south (Hespeler Road) 10 km into the Galt City Centre and turn left on Dickson Street.
- From Brantford – Take Highway 24 north into Cambridge and follow Water Street north into the Galt City Centre and turn right on Dickson Street.
- From Hamilton – Take Highway 8 north into Cambridge to the roundabout at Beverly Street. Take Beverly Street west into the Galt City Centre and turn right onto Dickson Street.
Grand River Transit
The Fire Hall Museum is a 5-minute walk to/from the Ainslie Street Terminal where several Grand River Transit bus routes connect. Note that transit routes and schedules are subject to change.

Accessible Parking and Drop-Off
- The City of Cambridge Civic Square outdoor parking lot at 9 Cambridge Street is the closest parking lot to the Museum. It has 6 spaces reserved for accessible parking permit holders.
- Vehicles may stop in front of the Museum on Dickson Street to pick up or drop off visitors. Parking is not permitted in this area.
- There is a ramp and an automated entry door at the main entrance to the Museum, located on the left (west) side of the building. The entry door opening is 86 cm (34 inches) wide.
- The main floor of the Museum is wheelchair-accessible. Wheelchairs, strollers and scooters are permitted in all areas of the main floor.
Public Washrooms
- The Museum does NOT have public washrooms.
- Accessible public washrooms are located on the main floor in City Hall next door to the Museum.
Service Animals
- Service animals are welcome in the Museum.
- Dogs that are not service animals are welcome in the Museum if they are leashed.
Sounds and Lighting
- The Museum’s exhibits include bells and sirens that can be activated by visitors; the bells and sirens can be loud and startling.
- There are no strobe or flashing lights in the Museum’s exhibits. A flashing light is located outside the Museum’s entrance.
- Video presentations in the Museum’s exhibits are open captioned.
